The mission of the Copenhagen Consensus is to establish priorities for advancing global welfare using methodologies based on the theories of welfare economics.
The question posed for the 2008 debate is:
If the world would come together and be willing to spend, say, $75 billion additionally over the next five years on improving the state of the world, which solutions would yield the greatest net benefits?
The 2008 Copenhagen Consensus is scheduled for May 26th to 28th at the Copenhagen Business School in Denmark, but we will start the 2008 debate here and hopefully wrap-up when poverty ends.
